Established in 1986, SAM Engineering is one of the leading centrifugal pump manufacturers in Africa, primarily serving the demands of the mining and petrochemical industry as well as process applications such as food, chemical, and pulp and paper where chemical resistance and anti-corrosive properties are a high priority. Our offering does not stop at the manufacture and supply of pumps, however, and adding value to pumping systems has always been at the core of everything we do. Our value added services include product training for all skill levels as well as a full range of performance testing and inspection capabilities from our testing facility located on the East Rand. SAM Engineering is very aware of its environment and the importance of building a good relationship between the business and its community. We strive to make a sustainable difference to the community by providing funding to organisations whose activities provide for a range of long-term benefits for the community. In addition, we fund causes that focus on providing support to disadvantaged children and handicapped members of the community. We also provide assistance to members of the community who wish to improve their educational levels. This further supports our desire to help those who are willing to help themselves. We are very proud to be associated with Willow Feather Farm’s 'Corporate Greening Project'. The 'Corporate Greening Project' aims to reduce the effects of deforestation through various tree planting initiatives that also assist companies to off-set their carbon emissions. Willow Feather Farm also provides education and awareness to school children on the importance of trees and how they themselves can preserve the environment. In fact, we like it so much we decided to finance the supply and planting of trees. So far, we have assisted with the planting of 730 trees at 16 schools in Pretoria, Thembisa and the East Rand. SAM Engineering supports the rescue and conservation of animals by assisting organisations that constantly require equipment or financial aid to rescue, home, feed, care and rehabilitate animals. Animals also from an important part of the community, however, organisations that support animals are often sadly overlooked and struggle with funding. Another focus of ours is toward the rescue and rehabilitation of injured birds, and we have so far financed the supply and installation of new cages as well as fridges, clothing and have also provided cash donations. To do this, we provide technical assistance and training on their machining processes to improve efficiency and quality, with the aim of developing them into a supplier for our industry. This was in line with their mission to build the biggest, most efficient and technologically advanced media tracking, evaluation and communications company to promote socio economic transformation.
