He worked in the various divisions of the company gaining valuable knowledge and expertise. This enabled him to take up management of 8 branches and subsequently become Director of Operations. The company was sold twice and in both instances Alan was intricately involved in the negotiations, securing jobs for his staff. He finally saw an opportunity in 2004 to purchase the Boksburg branch and resumed full operation regaining old and new customers. The name was then changed to One Stop Tool Hire and has continued servicing the construction industry since. Alan believes in a hands on approach and remains personally involved in the operation of the company, always being available to all his customers. His son Warren joined him in 2010, having lived and worked in the USA for a number of years, and now is an integral member of the team in running of the company. Our workshop is maintained by highly competent mechanics ensuring that all equipment gets serviced and maintained continuously. The company believes in giving young people who are serious about their futures an opportunity to train and learn about the industry, so Alan has set up a programme where boys from technical schools spend their holidays learning and working. In 2005 One Stop Tool Hire was awarded the Silver Award for small business in Ekurhuleni by the chamber of commerce. Having both travelled extensively, Alan and Warren believe that South Africa has a promising future if properly supported by business, and One Stop Tool Hire plans to be a part of this.
