Regular conversions are carried out to all types of Toyotas, Land Rover, Land Cruiser, Nissan, Ford, Mazda, and even a 4WD Mercedes which we recently converted into a superb camper. Fitment of rooftop tents, long range fuel and water tanks, double battery management systems, cooking, refrigeration, lighting and many accessories are carried out with expertise and efficiency. With the 50+ years’ experience in our manufacturing department whatever we design they build. We are proud to say we have 2000m2 of under roof workshop, 200m2 office space and a 200m2 showroom. This is a first for Gerber’s, a showroom, yes, a showroom to spoil you the customer with our uniquely designed products on display 6 or 5 and a half day a week.

The facility is well positioned next to major arterial roads and the
international airport. Their principle supplies are mostly sourced
within a convenient thirty kilometre radius. Gerber's supply chains are
simple and well proven over the many years of relationship they share
with their supply partners. Gerber's custom built workshops have
capacity for numerous custom conversions per week .The workshops are
situated on a 2350 square meter stand with workshops of 1250 square
meters and an additional 50 square meters of office space. Staffed by an
experienced 26 man technical team and supported by own transport and
administrative personnel. The workshops are fully equipped in terms of
welding (arc, argon and CO2) machining, pressing and finishing.
Gerber's is a well balanced blend of expertise and personal service.
Even today the senior management is to be found on the workshop floor,
if you want to speak to the boss it's most likely you'll do it via a
cordless phone from somewhere inside the work in progress. Wouter Gerber
is a man of old fashioned honour and as far as he's concerned, serving
his clients is his first priority, for him this is best done in a
hands-on way. These are the reasons Gerber's have developed the
reputation that they have, no one seems to be able to find any reason to
change that.

As African airless is a vital part of Gerbers 4wd we are responsible
for the research and development of all off-road products to suite the
needs of our clients. If you need any customised work done to your
vehicle we are the guys that will design it for you to ensure the
product that you need will be practical and economical. As we are on the
same premises as Gerbers 4wd it is so much easier to understand what
the needs are and design accordingly. CNC punching machines, CNC bending
machines, MIG and TIG welding. We have in the manufacturing of off-road
accessories and equipment.
Our African Airless© Fuel and Water tanks are built from the finest
raw materials, but inside they have unique venting paths which ensure
your 45 litre tank actually carries 45 litres of fuel, not 40 litres of
fuel and 5 litres of useless air. These fine details will serve you well
in the short and long term, these are not vehicles you would want to
swop out every other year, they are for the long haul, to build a
relationship of trust and confidence that you need when you're out
there.
