In order to prevent material which is being conveyed on a conveyor belt from falling off of the side of the conveyor belt, use is made of skirts positioned adjacent to the edges of the conveyer belt. The rubber is refitted, using the          same clamps. Advantages 1) Clamps are galvanised to resist corrosion 2) Cost effective in that:     a)  no manpower is used to re-open treads after being galvanised     b)  should a skirt rubber need replacement, the clamp is simply removed by          knocking the clamp out with a hammer.
