Cavalier Foods (Previously known as Just Lamb) is a red meat wholesaler & packing house located near OR Thambo International Airport in Boksburg, Johannesburg. Excellent product quality and adequate product traceability are ensured by the company’s independent quality assurance programme and standards.
Cavalier Foods is a ISO22000 approved facility and selected abattoirs accredited to slaughter for Cavalier Foods are subjected to internationally accredited audits on an annual basis. In 2009 an additional distribution & dispatch warehouse was erected to ensure effective storage & picking of all orders, destined to be distributed to our broad customer base by our own fleet of refrigerated trucks. In 2007 the company expanded the plant and established a deboning & cutting facility adjacent to the wholesale in Boksburg, focusing on the further processing of meat with advanced production & packaging technology. Established in 1998, the company was historically very much involved in the procurement and slaughtering of small livestock in SA & Namibia and gradually evolved into a leading one-stop meat packing destination. The company aspires to be the leading & preferred specialized red meat packer in Southern Africa. A unique range of value added solutions are on offer, caterers, butcheries, supermarket groups, lamb & beef primal cuts and whole lamb carcasses.
Our local customer base includes retailers, customized & specialized cutting according to specification, manufacturing/minced lines, spiced & marinated products, including: Case ready retail packing, HORECA and foods service markets. The company handles approximately 200 tons of meat per week through the wholesale and deboning sections.

Cavalier Foods Cavalier Foods is an established meat packing plant, situated in Boksburg, Gauteng and has been in business, since The factory was designed to pack various retail and case ready cuts, using the latest packing technology for both fresh beef and lamb. Deliveries are done on a daily basis over almost 2/3’ s of the country, utilizing the company’s own refrigerated fleet. It exists for more than 40 years and deals in all different categories of production animals: goats, sheep, lamb, slaughter cattle and weaner cattle. Cavalier Abattoir Cavalier Abattoir is also situated on Boekenhout Farm, the same address as for Feeders. This is a purpose build, high throughput lamb plant, with a daily capacity of 1200 sheep. Products include lamb and sheep meat, as well as various edible offal products. The close proximity to the Gauteng market serves as a major advantage to this plant, which can deliver fresh meat and on a daily basis to Pretoria and Johannesburg superstores. Cavalier Feeders Cavalier Feeders was purpose build to add the final growth to lamb before entering the meat production chain. It has its own in-house feed factory where rations are mixed according to specific requirements.
