Berea Baptist Church is a small Mission Church established in the very heart of Johannesburg. The main house is used as a place of worship for people from 16 different nations and the 2nd house is for the residing pastor and his wife. The holy Scripture of the bible, as originally given by god, are divinely inspired, trustworthy and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. There is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Our Lord Jesus Christ is God visible in body, born of the Virgin Mary. He was buried, and on the third day arose from the dead. Humankind male and female, was created in the image of God, with consequent dignity, delegated authority and creation stewardship. As a result of the Fall, all peoples are lost and sinful, in need of salvation. Salvation is available only through the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ and his salvation are received by repentance and faith apart from human effort, as the Holy Spirit brings about new birth. Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. Our vision, mission and strategy is to reach out to win, Teach, Train and Send(in fellowship) God is enabling us to do this through a variety of remarkable ministries. We are ordinary people, sinners all, being transformed into the image of Christ. We are a missionary church with people from all over Africa and the world. We desire to be grounded in and faithful to Scripture in our understanding and practice of mission. We endeavor to follow the example of Jesus, who embodied God’s love by identifying with those he served. We continually call upon and listen for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in prayer. We witness to Jesus Christ in ways that include verbal proclamation of the gospel, response to human need and care for creation. We cultivate integrity, stewardship, honesty, transparency and accountability in all aspects of our work. We encourage flexible and creative responses to the leading of the Holy Spirit as we seek to be of service to God, God’s people and the world.
